2012 is a science fiction drama disaster film, directed by Roland Emmerich and released in 2009. The film stars John Cusack, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Amanda Peet, Oliver Platt, Danny Glover, Thandie Newton and Woody Harrelson. It was distributed by Columbia Pictures. Filming began in August 2008 in Vancouver.
The film briefly references Mayanism, the Mesoamerican Long Count calendar, and the 2012 phenomenon in its portrayal of cataclysmic events unfolding in the year 2012. Because of solar flare bombardment the Earth's core begins heating up at an unprecedented rate, eventually causing crustal displacement. This results in an onslaught of Doomsday eventLos Angeles falling into the Pacific Ocean, the eruption of the Yellowstone National Park caldera, cataclysmic earthquakes wreaking havoc around the globe, and Megatsunamis surging across the Earth. The film centers around an ensemble cast of characters as they narrowly escape multiple catastrophes in an effort to reach ships in the Himalayas, along with scientists and governments of the world who are attempting to save as many lives as they can before the disasters ensue.

The story was written by Mark Boal, a freelance writer who was embedded with a bomb squad. It stars Jeremy Renner, Anthony Mackie, and Brian Geraghty as members of a U.S. Army EOD unit in Iraq and follows their tour together as they contend with defusing bombs, the threat of insurgency, and the tension that develops among them.
The film was shot in the Middle East, specifically in Jordan, within miles of the Iraq border. It was first released theatrically in the United States on June 26, 2009, in New York and Los Angeles. Based on the success of its limited run, the independent film received a more widespread theatrical release in the United States on July 24, 2009. The film had initially premiered at the Venice Film Festival in late 2008, then at the Toronto International Film Festival in North America, where it was picked up for distribution in the United States by Summit Entertainment.

Post Grad is a 2009 comedy film starring Alexis Bledel, Carol Burnett, Zach Gilford, Michael Keaton, Jane Lynch, and Rodrigo Santoro, about a recent college graduate who moves back in with her family while she figures out what she wants to do next. It is directed by Vicky Jenson. Originally under the working titles of Ticket to Ride and then The Post-Grad Survival Guide, Amanda Bynes was originally set to star in the film, but was replaced by Bledel. The film was released on August 21, 2009.


 

Plot

Ryden Malby (Alexis Bledel) graduates from college in the middle of the late-2000s recession and is forced to move back in with her parents, because her dream job has been given to her college nemesis Jessica Bard. Ryden and her best friend Adam (Zach Gilford) must find a job for Ryden before she loses hope for her future dream as an editor of a big publishing company. But will sudden feelings for her long time friend interfere with her dreams?

Case 39 2009

The movie Case 39 is an upcoming horror film directed by Christian Alvart. The story revolves around Emily Jenkins (Renee Zellweger) a family social services worker who gets involved in a mysterious and potentially fatal new case involving Lilith (Jodelle Ferland). Filming of Case 39 took place 3 years ago, but still no release date, all we know is that it is scheduled to be distributed by Paramount Pictures.

Well at least we may enjoy this movie trailer of Case 39:

Plot:
"Case 39 is a horror film starring Renée Zellweger as social worker Emily Jenkins. Emily thinks she has seen it all until she meets her newest, most mysterious case, troubled 10-year old Lilith Sullivan (Jodelle Ferland). Emily's worst fears are confirmed when the parents try to kill Lilith, their only daughter. Emily saves her and decides to take her in herself until the right foster family comes along, only to find out the girl isn't nearly as innocent as she thought." (Source: Wikipedia)

Strange to see Renee Zellweger in a R-rated movie like this one after seeing her in the marshmallow movie New In Town (well actually she made Case 39 before New in Town).

Trivia:
On October 31, 2006, a fire started on the film's set in Vancouver. None of the cast was on the set at the time and nobody was seriously injured, though the set and studio were destroyed.

The movie Case 39 does not really stand out for its originality judging from the trailer, but Renee Zellweger is cute, so I can but give a try to the Case 39!
